St. Joseph's scored two runs in the bottom of the second and that was all they needed as four Golden Eagles were sent to the mound and shut out the Raptors in game one. Tyler Sanderson sent a double down the leftfield line and an infield single from Anthony Raucci put runners on the corners with one out. Matthew Burnett singled the left side bringing in Sanderson before Louis Fontinha found a hole through the right side to drive in Raucci.

That was all the Golden Eagles needed as Anthony Papa picked his fifth win of the season tossing three scoreless innings allowing just two hits while fanning three. Nick Clemente provided an inning of perfect relief before giving way to Anthony Caminiti who allowed just two hits in his two innings on the mound. Michael Catanzaro entered in the seventh to retire the side for his first save of the season.

Trailing 5-0 after the top of the second, the Golden Eagles got on the board with a run in the bottom half of the inning. Michael Ferrufino led off the inning with a double to left before two groundouts to the right side of the infield allowed him to score SJC's first run of the game.

Following a scoreless third, the Golden Eagles put together a four-run bottom of the fourth to tie the game at five. Dylan Piscitelli started the inning with a single to right that was misplayed by the Rutgers right fielder allowing him to advance to third. Ferrufino came up with a single up the middle to drive in Piscitelli before Lou Doria belted a two-run home run over the right-field fence to inch the Golden Eagles to within one, 5-4. A couple batters later an RBI single off the bat of Vincent Biordi scored Jesse Nakashian for the fourth run of the inning.

The Raptors exploded for eight runs on six hits in the top of the sixth to push the game to 13-5.

The Golden Eagles got an RBI single from Tyler Costa in the bottom of the seventh, but SJC left two runners stranded to fall 13-6.

Ferrufino finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

The Golden Eagles await to be seeded for the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament that takes place next week. The selection show is scheduled for Sunday, May 13.
