Patchogue, NY| Six different players scored as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) women's soccer team breezed past Skyline Conference opponent Yeshiva University by the score of 9-0 on late Tuesday night at Danzi Stadium in Patchogue, NY. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 2-4 overall and 2-0 in Skyline action. Yeshiva falls to 0-8 (0-4 Skyline).

Freshman Christina Gagliardi opened the scoring for St. Joseph's in a wild first minute that saw the forward score her third goal of the season just seconds before classmate Shannon Condron scored her first career goal to double the Golden Eagles lead. Condron tallied her second goal of the night in the third minute when Gagliardi sent a through ball to Condron for the one-touch finish. Jaclyn O'Shaughnessy would tally her first goal of the season in the 10th minute to push the Golden Eagles ahead 4-0.

O'Shaughnessy's 12th minute finish that curled from the left side kept SJC in the lead 5-0. Jessica Passabile was the fourth different Golden Eagle to score -her career first -10 seconds later. Samantha Wedderburn added to the goal total in the 15th minute, scoring her career first goal, after a ball from Mackenzie Nyitray finds her feet for the 7-0 finish.

Nyitray would score in her second consecutive game in the 17th minute as she was on the receiving end of Wedderburn's pass to increase SJC's lead 8-0. Wedderburn would conclude the scoring in the first half as she put it past the keeper on a breakaway to pull away 9-0.

The second half featured just two shot from Yeshiva University but the Golden Eagles backline kept them at bay for the 9-0 win.

Gagliardi now leads the team with three goals, while Nyitray, Condron, and O'Shaughnessy are all tied at second with two goals on the team.  The Golden Eagles outshot their opponents 2-0 and Karissa Rutigliano made three saves on the night, while Yeshiva's Michal Alge was credited with one.

The Golden Eagles return to action tomorrow on Wednesday Sept. 21, when they welcome William Paterson to Danzi Stadium at 7 PM. Live stats will be available here.
